Wonderful dog friendly venue

"Highly recommend. In July 2017 I stayed in Rosleague Manor with my dog Daisy, a springer spaniel. A beautiful period property set in its own extensive grounds with absolutely stunning views. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Traveling with your pet can be challenging at times, so finding a hotel that has actually dedicated pet friendly rooms is a joy. Our bedroom (Room 21) was simply enormous, there was a bathroom with a roll-top bath and a separate walk-in wet room with rain shower; a balcony with table & chairs and steps down to a small gravel area where you could bring your dog when necessary. The staff were genuinely friendly and eager to help. The food was delicious and the duty manager was happy to set a table for me in the conservatory/bar so that I could enjoy a full course dinner with Daisy beside me. The next day after a fortifying breakfast we explored the grounds and went for a walk along the shore of the private beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were just sorry it hadn’t been for longer. Go there, you won’t be disappointed. "

A wonderful place to stay with your dog

"Highly recommend. In July 2017 I stayed in Lough Bawn House with my dog Daisy, a springer spaniel. If its peace and tranquillity, delightful conversation and delicious food in a beautiful period country house situated in stunning grounds, then this is the place to book. My bedroom had views over the lake and was super comfortable. My dog spent hours racing around fields and swimming in the lake at the bottom of the hill. Verity (the owner) has the gift of making you feel like you’re a friend come to stay the night. I went home with a bunch of sweet-pea from the garden and the remains of the home baked brown bread I had had for breakfast. We are already planning a return visit! Thank you Verity for a wonderful stay. "

Island travel with my dog

"I stayed in Doonmore Hotel for a night along with my dog Daisy, a springer spaniel, in July 2017. The weather unfortunately was miserable, but this was more than compensated for by the warm welcome we received in Doonmore. We were met at the pier and transferred to the hotel by minibus where we were registered and shown to our room. The hotel is an old style, family run business with great character - cosy and comfortable. Hunkered into the landscape, with views onto the coastline. Our room was in keeping with the period of the hotel; very clean and the bed super comfortable. I found the staff genuinely friendly and very helpful and the food was simply delicious and plentiful. Traveling with your dog can be challenging at times, so finding a hotel that has pet friendly rooms is a joy. Despite the weather we went for a walk that evening and explored some of the truly amazing scenery to be found on the island. On our return, wet and bedraggled, we were delighted to find the heating on in our room which enabled us both to dry off. Next morning, after a fortifying and yummy breakfast, we set out to discover more of Bofin. We were able to leave our rucksacks at the hotel where they would be delivered to the pier for us in time for the lunchtime ferry, leaving us more time to ramble. The island is truly beautiful. It has a special feel - serene yet bleak, which seems a contradiction but somehow wasn’t. I would love to go back and see it in better weather and I will certainly be hoping to stay at the Doonmore on my return. "
