Why should I become a member of WoofAdvisor.com?


You're very free – and welcome – to visit WoofAdvisor.com without ever registering as a member.


However - there are a quite a number of "members only" perks / advantages of registering as a member. These include:

  • Add a Listing – Accommodation, Amenity, Service, Attraction….

  • Upload Photos and enter Pet Selfie competitions

  • Vote on Competitions

  • Create your own Photo Galleries

  • Create your own Travel Diary – save and revisit any trips you've actually done

  • Use the Trip Planner – save, share, print itineraries for trips you're planning. This will show you your selected options (Accommodation, Amenities, Services with easy-to-use filters within each of those headings) within a specified range of / along your route. These are displayed on an interactive map – select any listing on the map and it will show you basic details / provide a link to the more detailed overview page for that listing. You can also add that listing to your own travel plan.

  • Contribute to discussions on the Community Forum

  • Connect with other Members in your locality – maybe form a Dog Walking Group or share the Pet Sitting while away on trips when your pet is not travelling with you.

How do I become a member?

Becoming a member is easy and free! Just click on "Join" and provide the required information. Also, you’ll be subscribed to our newsletter which will include member’s only special offers and tips for on making your next trip even more enjoyable.


Is my personal information safe with WoofAdvisor?

Yes. We value your privacy and security as much as you do, and we won't send you spam. The personal information you provide when you register at WoofAdvisor.com will not be sold to or shared with any third parties, nor will it be shared with other members. If you choose to post photos or comments, other WoofAdvisor.com users will see your screen name. You can find all the details in our Privacy Policy.


How do I change my password / what do I do if I've forgotten my password?

Just click Login and then Forgot Your Password?

We'll send you an email with a temporary password. Following this you will be able to reset your password to something more meaningful to you. If there is a delay in receiving this email from us, please check your email spam folder.


How do I unsubscribe from the emails I am getting from WoofAdvisor?

There is an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of each email we send. Clicking that link will unsubscribe you from our emails.

Why am I having trouble signing in?

It may be because your web browser isn't set up to accept "cookies." Once you enable cookies, restart your browser and you should be able to login to your WoofAdvisor.com account.


How do I get started using WoofAdvisor.com?

We suggest the home page, where you can easily search for hotels, campgrounds, activities and services for your trip. You'll find detailed pet policies so you can be confident you've found accommodation that will best meets your needs, and you can read reviews and comments posted by other members before making your decision. Booking a hotel is simple – contact the hotel directly and make your reservation. If you're ready to hit the road, you can map your trip using our Road Trip Planner.


I know about some pet-friendly places that aren't listed here. Do you want to know about them?

Yes Please! Although we've tried to collect as many as we could, we know there are pet-friendly places out there that we haven't identified yet. It would be really great if you'd share your knowledge. Please Add a Listing if you know about pet-friendly Accommodation, Amenity or Service not yet listed on the site.


I'd like to contribute a comment. How do I do that?

Writing a comment is a fantastic way to share your experience with other pet-loving people. You can be completely frank and honest, as long as you adhere to our Community & Forum Guidelines / Rules https://www.woofadvisor.com/community-forum-guidelines-rules.php

You must be a member of the WoofAdvisor.com website to post comments. To become a member, simply click on Join or Sign up with Facebook and provide the required information.


If I post a comment will people know it was me?

Other WoofAdvisor.com users will only see your screen name, so unless you provide identifying information in your comment, that's the only identifying information they'll have. You can find out more in our Privacy Policy.


What if my comment does not meet the WoofAdvisor.com comment guidelines?

If we determine that your post violates our comment guidelines, we'll notify you by email and let you know the reason why. At that point, you may choose to resubmit your comment, keeping our guidelines in mind.


Can I make quotes from a web site or something I found online?

We prefer only original material in your comments, but a brief quote – if properly attributed to its source – can sometimes be acceptable. We do not allow quoted material from personal email correspondence or from reviews published elsewhere. Only post material you have the legal right to use.


Will my comment ever appear anywhere else?

After you submit a comment, it becomes the property of WoofAdvisor.com. We may occasionally use comments, or portions of comments, written by our members in our promotional materials. You can find out more in our Terms of Use Policy.


When will my comments be posted?

It can take up to 24-48 hours for comments to be published. It may take longer if your comment bends or breaks our comment guidelines.


How long will my comment stay on the site?

Our current policy is that comments do not expire, so your contribution will remain on the site indefinitely. Occasionally, we determine that a comment violates our comment guidelines and it is removed.


How do I edit or delete a comment?

Unfortunately, there is not a way for you to edit a comment once it is submitted. If you'd like to change your comment, simply email us and we will consider deleting it so you can submit a revised version.

I wrote a comment on WoofAdvisor.com and the owner of the business contacted me. Did you give them my email address?

In a word - No! It may be that they've retained your information from your own dealings with the business in question. It is strictly against our policies to share anyone's personal information with any business owner or anyone else. You can find out more in our Privacy Policy.


I'd like to share my photos and videos with other WoofAdvisor.com members. How do I do that?

That’s great – there are two ways you can do this:

  1. You can add Photos or Video links via your Profile Page on WoofAdvisor.com

  2. You can Add Pet Selfies on WoofAdvisor.com

How can I close my account?

Simply email us and we'll take care of it. If you have a specific issue with our site, our policies, or other WoofAdvisor.com users, we'd like to know if there is any way we can help.


How do I get my business listed on WoofAdvisor.com?

If you are the owner of a pet-friendly business in one of the categories included on the site please click Add a Listing and provide your business' information. It may take a few days for your listing to appear – our team verifies the information for each listing and publishes it as soon as possible.


There are negative comments about my business on WoofAdvisor.com. Will you take them down?

No. We will not remove comments unless they are in violation of our guidelines. We give you the option of posting a reply (clearly identifying your relationship with the business).


How do I get my business removed from the WoofAdvisor.com website?

Our goal is to be a complete source of travel information for our users. Therefore, we will not remove a listing unless the business is permanently closed or no longer pet-friendly. If that is the case, please email us to verify that it has closed.


How much does it cost to have my business listed on WoofAdvisor.com?

Basic listings are completely free – we do not require payment details. Upgraded listing will be available in time – you can email us for more information.
